About Me
I’ve been working as a freelance graphic designer for over 15 years. What I enjoy most about freelancing is the personal connection with my clients, working closely together, thinking things through from start to finish.
I’m married to Theo, and together we have three very creative kids. Theo is a web developer, and we often combine our skills on projects. You can read more about our collaboration further down the page.
I originally studied Industrial Design at the Design Academy in Eindhoven. Not long after, my husband and I set off to travel the world while he trained to become a pilot. After his graduation we moved to Lodwar, a rural town in northern Kenya, where we lived for three years.
During that time Theo flew as a pilot for a medical organization, while I worked with young people in the community. I taught creative and practical skills that could help them earn a living. Together we made greeting cards, jewelry, clothing, and I also taught computer skills.
Seeing how creativity could open doors and create opportunities sparked my entrepreneurship. When we returned to the Netherlands, I decided to turn my own creative skills into a business and started my career as a freelance designer.
Freelancing has given me the freedom to work from home while balancing our lively family life. It suits me perfectly: I love working directly with my clients, keeping communication clear, and maintaining quality throughout the entire process.

What’s more to me…
Outside of design, I’m a nature lover and a bit of a plant nerd. My kids blame me for turning our home into a jungle, with more and more vines creeping along the living room walls. I love creating green wall art from dried moss (feel free to reach out if you’d like a custom moss design!), but my proudest project is my DIY living plant wall. After a year and a half of experimenting, it’s finally thriving.

Even though I’ve grown as a graphic designer, I’m still a maker at heart. We live in a small home and most of our furniture is self-made. I’m a big fan of tiny-house living—there’s something incredibly satisfying about designing and building pieces that fit a space perfectly, both in function and style.
We also own a tiny vintage mini caravan: a 1967 Italian retro model that needs love and attention every year, but brings us endless joy.

I’m also a runner, especially after long hours behind the computer. I play football in a 30+ women’s league, and in summer I love cycling with Theo

Our years abroad, especially in Kenya, taught me what really matters. I discovered I don’t need much to be happy. That mindset carries over into my work: fair pricing, clear communication, and a straightforward process without unnecessary fuss.
I work independently—there’s no team of designers behind the scenes. That means thoughtful planning, flexibility, and plenty of personal attention.
Code-Pilot
For the technical side of my projects, I collaborate with Code-Pilot—someone I know pretty well since we’ve been married for 20+ years!
Theo transitioned from bush pilot to full-stack developer, originally to support my projects. Over time he has built an impressive client base of his own.
Together we make a strong team. Communication between designer and developer can sometimes be tricky, but that’s never an issue for us. By aligning design and technology early in the process, we save time and avoid unnecessary costs—advantages you’d normally only find at larger design agencies.
In the end, that simply leads to better results.
